Meet Mike
Born in West Allis to parents who both started their careers as teachers, Mike grew up as the oldest of five children. After attending Martin Luther High School in Greendale, Mike attended the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a double major in Finance and General Business which helped him secure his first job with Johnson Controls.
Not too long after graduating Mike married his wife Kim who he met while studying at Whitewater. Starting out, Mike and Kim lived and started their family in Milwaukee’s Sherman Park neighborhood, just blocks away from where his father grew up. As the family outgrew the 2-bedroom lower duplex, Mike and Kim found a home to raise their two children and moved to South Milwaukee in 1999.
Living in South Milwaukee Mike has been very active both inside and outside the local community. Mike participated in City politics and ran for South Milwaukee Alderman and Mayor. He was also actively engaged with the School District of South Milwaukee’s Vision and Planning Committee as well as the School District’s Business Partnership Committee. Mike has also served on the Board of Directors for the non-profit Havenwoods Economic Development Corp. and on the Board of Directors of the Granville-Brown Deer Chamber. When a neighborhood girl, and close friend of his children, was brutally attacked when walking home from Grant Park Beach, Mike took it upon himself and organized the neighborhood, Local, County and State Officials to help address safety in the community. Mike’s family also was a host family for over four years for the Global Studies Program at Martin Luther High School hosting three international students and welcoming these students by making a home for them as they studied so far from their homes.
Today Mike is the CEO of the business that his grandfather founded in 1931. Mike has been instrumental in growing the third-generation family-owned business that started out serving the local Milwaukee market to a Company that employs over 30 people, has 4 distribution centers and ships nationwide. Mike holds a patent on a packaging and shipping solution instrumental in safe shipping and handling hazardous material. The Company Mike has built has a significant customer base that includes a number of long-term out of State contracts bringing significant economic impact to Wisconsin.
Mike and his wife are proud to call Milwaukee County’s South Shore community their home.
